Part of the rebrand of Coffee Supreme undertaken by Hardhat Design was the redesign of their take-out cups. There are 16 in total, each with a different illustration lovingly hand-drawn by Team Hardhat in paint, ink, chalk and pencil.

Well known in New Zealand and Australia, speciality coffee importer and roaster Coffee Supreme’s take-out cups were already known for being unusual, distinctive and quirky, so while Hardhat knew from the re-brand brief that they wanted to ‘grow up’, it was important Supreme didn’t lose their individuality. As a key touch-point for current and potential customers, the cups serve as a public face of the brand, outside of & away from their cafes. They needed to be recognised from a distance, as well as being beautiful little things you’d want to hold in your hand… and Hardhat wanted to create cups that could give you a lighthearted break in your daily routine of buying a coffee.
The cups come in three different colours from the brand palette (in part so that the baristas can easily tell the three different sizes apart when they’re cranking the coffee & grabbing a cup!)
