We recently worked on a packaging project for the famous sake brand Gekkeikan. For more than 370 years, the Japanese house has been producing the world’s finest sake. Based in Fushimi, in the heart of Japan, is where they use the country’s best rice and purest waters to preserve the creation of a world renowned alcohol of excellence. Following its success and to meet the growing foreign demand, they decided to set up an overseas brewery in California.

What’s Unique?
Gekkeikan contacted us to design the packaging of a collection bottle, which marks their 30 years of existence in the USA. Our challenge was to respect the visual codes of their traditional culture, while using an imagery that could adapt to a different audience. We therefore decided to opt for a simple, chic and minimalist design, focusing on the sense of touch created by the UV print illustration once the bottle is in your hands.
