A high-end brand that’s known for quality service in every way. It is a local and well-trusted brand within Tumalo, Oregon. They are also known for their traditional cider-making methods which date back to the original apple orchards from North Kazakhstan. Ever since the start of Citron Cider, the design of the packaging has successfully reflected what the cider company is or stands for, which results in a new direction of design and packaging. Citron Cider has a good reputation when it comes to what is inside the bottle but what’s on the outside is what needs a change.

The design objective of this project was to create a long-term packaging system that clearly communicates the values of Citron Cider and to establish a more unique and sophisticated look for this cidery. The illustrations for this project were inspired by the story behind the cidery, Ellis Orchards. The story being about Charles Ellis, an American author – was a man of the world who fell in love with a Kazakhstani farmers daughter, towards the end of the story the farmer gave Charles his daughters dowry in apple seeds, which lead Charles on his journey to open up his own orchard – Ellis Orchards. Throughout the packaging design, you will see little hints of the story being incorporated in the design.

What’s Unique?
What makes this packaging unique is that the main product is a glass can, which can be reused with reusable 3D printed lids. The rubdown print on the glass makes the product look very high-end and worth keeping after the primary use of the glass drink.
