Moja Cooking Kits come with a combination of cooking oils and dry ingredients that can be used to add flavour to a fresh serving of food. The kits are designed to allow travellers the enjoyment of a home cooked meal, on the road, without buying the full cupboard of supplies normally needed. Small quantities of each ingredient are intended to serve one or two people, won’t take up too much space in your bag, and will fly by airport security.

Together we wanted to express flavours in shape and texture and not confuse the packaging with dozens of colours associating blue for salt and red for chilli. The black paint illustrations directly depict the taste profile of each spice or herb.

Sometimes we used the actual ingredient to express its contents. Pouring abstract lines of olive oil, playing with powdered paprika or making ink prints from whole spices like Black pepper or Cumin kernels.

The US brand aims to fully launch in June and is taking pre-orders for its Savory Kit. With a view to quickly introduce a Sweet Kit and other types of cuisine. Made from 100% recyclable materials and packed in small portions, Moja Cooking helps you minimize waste and maximize convenience.

The creation of these unique patterns was fun and playful. Sometimes we used the actual ingredient to express its contents. Pouring random lines of olive oil, playing with powdered paprika or making ink prints from whole spices like Black pepper or Cumin kernels and abstract ink stamping cross sections of ginger or garlic to create different effects. Not everything made the cut, but a unique black and white mono illustration was assigned to each of the 8 spice in the savoury kit (Cumin, Coriander, Garlic Powder, Ginger, Cinnamon, Paprika, Black Pepper and Salt) This design style keeps the door open to add many new herbs and spices as well as other oils, marinades and sweeteners.
