Mezcal Union was born from a desire to unite several families of mezcal producers in the state of Oaxaca.

This community notion of several “small houses” under the same banner is the starting point of our concept. The challenge of this concept project was to transmit on a neutral bottle a double heritage. A meeting between the millenary history of the Mexican Mayas and the ancestral and artisanal history of the production of this alcohol.

Two types of design and graphic codes are now confronted and associated. The design of the label is composed of two geometric shapes, rectangle and circle, which are intertwined, using the language of Mayan tapestries and which constitute the general composition. This central point dedicated to the brand is highlighted by several colors, typical colors of Mexico, through selective varnish and light metallization of the decorations, but also by small attentions made to the typography embossed in a beautiful paper with peripheral notched forms.

At the top of the bottle, a Mayan mask is finely drawn and embossed as a medallion. This detail reinforces the meeting between tradition and modern transcription. Concerning the cap, the wood with essences of Olneya Tesota typical of Mexico, as well as the cork finalize this design.
