A MASH-UP OF BOLD INVENTION AND SMOOTH TASTE

THREE SHIPS – MASH TUN

The Mash Tun at any distillery works hard. It’s the place where malt, water and heat meet, where the malt boils at 64 degrees  – a place that mirrors the dedication, hard work and innovation of the people at the James Sedgwick Distillery.

Mash Tun is not a whisky but a whisky-based spirit aperitif with additional flavourants, offering mixability, lower ABV and a sweeter profile. With this new intrinsic, it was the brands aim to recruit non-whisky drinkers into the category.

We were inspired by steam-powered machinery and created a steampunk label design with embellishments of cogs and pipework borders. To enhance the creative territory, we made use of copper foil finishes, offset on a matt black background, perfectly framing the iconic T-shaped label that the Three Ships brand own. The Mash-Tun wordmark takes centre stage under the Three Ships logo and a beautiful lock-up draws you in to discover a little more on pack.
