Brief: Design a bulb packaging that prevents a bulb from damaging when subjected to free-fall from a height of 5ft.

Description: Basically, the brief is to address the problem of damaging the filament or glass when someone accidentally drops it while it is still inside the packaging. Ergonomically, it was settled that 5ft is a good height to test for since most shelves for keeping small products in stores are at a height of 5ft.

The packaging uses the same amount of material by area as used in the existing packaging, hence it maintains to be within the material price barrier. It can also be tessellated in a grid with absolute no space in-between and hence it’s more viable.

What’s Unique?
The best part is where the user can see through the packaging sideways to check if the bulb and its filament is intact before buying. Most damages occur when the user is trying to remove the bulb out of the packaging and then it suddenly pops out and drops out of the hand.
