The GLOBETROTTER is a board game celebrating the most significant collectors and donators of the 100-year-old Ferenc Hopp Museum of Asiatic Arts, Budapest, Hungary. These very different individuals who shared the love for art travelled across Asia in the end of the 19th and the beginning of 20th century. They purchased many beautiful and valuable objects and took them back to share a piece of the unknown East with the Hungarian public.

In GLOBETROTTER players can impersonate these travelers and with strategy and luck they have to collect art objects of different Asian cultures to make the foundations of the Museum.

Each character has their own quest of collecting objects indicated on the character card. Players travelling across the map of Asia (divided according to the different collections of the Museum) need to purchase, bid, and exchange objects, collect money for travel and find the fastest way home.

What’s Unique? The box has a second lid with a pop-up illustration of the Museum’s symbol, the Chinese moongate, standing in the garden of the Museum.
