This is a mooncake packaging project designed and produced by Inca Agency for the luxury Sofitel Legend Metropole Hotel. Got inspired from the reality of global pandemic that had made people celebrate mid-autumn festival in such a different way, Inca team decided to develop the concept of “The most remarkable mid-autumn”. Elegant shades of black and white are the main theme colors for this packaging design.

These elementary colors not only demonstrate minimalism and modernism of the design, but also make it stand out from stereotypical mooncake packages so that to some extent, represents our concept of a “remarkable mid-autumn”. On the outer box, we used artwork simulating such typical architecture of the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi. Put inside the large box, inner boxes are engraved with iconic symbols of what has been going on during 2020, such as: Vietnam’s special repatriation flight, home delivery service, kitchen and front office ambassadors with masks on, along with some symbolic architectural corners of this long-established hotel. Other than that, there is also a colorful poster with lively illustrations of Metropole’s staffs celebrating the dedication of all brave Vietnamese healthcare professionals during pandemic time 2020. The material being used for this project is fine-art paper with special texture. On the surface of it, letterpressing and copper foil printing techniques were concentrated to emphasize the line artwork.
