Our project combines the vintage style of the newly designed concept from Burger King and Americas love for hearty burgers and fries. For this project we were assigned to redesign and invent a new food packaging for a certain food category, and we were given the category of mains originating from America. Our packaging was designed in the form of a car for which the different compartments within a car was designed to function as storage for the co-existing side dishes.

This idea was inspired by the conditions all of us had to live through during the pandemic. For most places, they were forced to oblige the “no dine-in” rule which means customers weren’t allowed to dine-in at their favorite restaurants, hence why the idea of this project appeared. So we created a packaging that was not only convenient but doubles as a plate for when customers decide to eat in the car or bring their meal home. By having this particular car design, it effectively uses up all compartments of a car to store all the necessary foods to complete a meal. We created this project with the concept of contemporary youth and taking into account all aspects of the usability function on each side that can protect and store the food and have customers open up to a delicious meal.

What’s Unique?
This packaging project has its own uniqueness which lies in its shape that resembles a car, but each part has its own function. This packaging provides customers with a different sensation and feeling from other food packaging, the reasoning being that the packaging doesn’t only serve as a packaging for the meal, it doubles and can be used as a display and for those who have younger kids can use it as toy.
