Double Six Drinks approached OurCreative to reimagine their award-winning range of gins with an iconic and disruptive brand identity that would grab the attention of mixologists and gin lovers alike. Finding their bars closed over lockdown and with a lot of time on their hands, the dream to create their own “cracking Yorkshire Gin” was born. It soon became the barman’s choice for the perfect cocktail, this is London dry gin done proper.
Fusing the essence of tradition with a spirit of modernity, the identity draws inspiration from the history of 39 Call Lane, Leeds—the birthplace of their first micro distillery; blending historical elements with a bold contemporary aesthetic. The address was once home to Wolfe Brothers, a renowned jeweller, inspiring their unique name. The new brand identity proudly features a bold diamond shape within the hand rendered, industrial typography, serving as a subtle tribute to this historic connection.
A new suite of bespoke illustrations, crafted in-house, combine the fluidity of the painted backgrounds with layered collage elements. The backgrounds evoke liquid infusion, whist the surprising colour combinations of the cut-out style botanicals and ingredients add depth, blending traditional and modern aesthetics seamlessly.
On previous bottles Double Six Drinks were hand applying 8, yes 8, individual labels to every bottle. OurCreative reduced this excessive packaging saving this small, passionate company precious money and production time. Engaging local printer, The Label Makers, packaging was reduced to just 2 labels and a neck seal, on a beautiful, premium textured stock with raised spot gloss, still achieving a 65% saving across the total label cost, not to mention precious production time!

Curator’s Insight: Wolfe Bros is a modern gin with a twist. The labels feature vibrant illustrations of botanicals and ingredients that give each flavour a unique personality. The colours are bold and unexpected, creating a striking contrast with the white background. The illustrations are also made with a collage technique that adds texture and depth to the design.
