The Task
The history of this project takes us to the heart of the USA, where our long-standing client the EUROPEAN IMPORTING COMPANY imports ethnic products on the local American market.
The project Czar Nikolas II includes the design of a trademark and a series of over 10 boxes for different kinds of tea. Our client didn’t want there to be a direct connection between the product and the name, which automatically removed the possibility of creating an illustration of Czar Nikolas II in the project, but on the other hand allowed us to include royal symbolism in the trademark – the crown of Nikolas II.
The difficult part of the project was to choose and retouch the product illustrations, since they take up most of the package front and the design mostly depends on them to attract the buyer’s attention. We were aiming for an expensive design, which is appropriate for the premium segment this tea is in, so we chose a golden tone as the main color for all the different types, while most of the efforts were aimed at a harmonized composition with all necessary elements of the different kinds of tea and their precise retouch.
