Nam Vuong fish sauce: Full of authentic flavor Nam Vuong is the passing of the torch and intergenerational continuity. People chose, salted, and screened the last fish caught to create droplets of fish sauce to stave off hunger in trying times. The flavor of the entire region has been transformed today by the weight of time and a drop of fish sauce.


We had the chance to speak with two youngsters, Huong and Hai, who grew up enjoying the flavor of sea salt and the benefits of the sea, as part of our packaging design project. They have goals typical of rural, coastal fishing communities as they grow up and want to share their country’s beauty with the rest of the world. We deeply feel and appreciate their simplicity and sincerity, and we wish to portray that attitude by employing a school of fish charging forward in woodcarving to represent a future of reaching out. high decline of the nation of fish sauce.


Huong and Hai were privileged to grow up in the long-standing cultural context of a bustling fishing hamlet in addition to being fed by the gifts of the sea. They now associate Cau Ngu with special, long-running celebrations from their early years. The sight of the Ngu Sac flag flapping in the first few days of the year always evokes warm, joyous, and familial feelings. As a result, we looked to the Ngu Sac flag for inspiration and used that to create a palette and adaptable packaging design options.
