OURDANG

Korean Bakery Salon, OURDANG, is a bakery café inspired by the “Sarangbang” – a welcome space in traditional Korean homes where guests were welcomed with warm hospitality, and intellectuals met for cultural exchange over tea and refreshments. OURDANG combines “Our” from our parent brand OURHOME, with “Dang” (house, 堂), a character used to describe communal spaces including tea houses, it symbolizes a sense of connection and relaxation. The design draws on Korean art heritage, featuring mother-of-pearl elements, a calligraphy-style logo, and a tray table “soban” inspired emblem, elegantly merging timeless Korean beauty with modern aesthetic.

First opened at one of South-East Asia’s key travel hubs, Incheon Airport, OURDANG is designed to provide visitors from around the globe with an authentic Korean cultural experience and a unique opportunity to connect with the country’s rich culinary traditions. It offers a serene retreat with a diverse selection of sweet and savory baked goods made from premium seasonal local ingredients. Every detail, from the packaging to the store design, reflects our cultural heritage while embracing modern technology, delivering a memorable taste of Korea to global travelers, inviting guests to indulge in a journey through Korea’s culinary landscape.

OURDANG’s design reinterprets the warmth of the traditional “sarangbang” in a modern context. The signature pink color representing love – “sarang” in Korean – creates an inviting atmosphere open to all, regardless of gender or status. Traditional materials like wood and mother-of-pearl produce visuals reflecting the intricate inlay of Korean folding screens known as “byeongpung.” The emblem and counter legs shaped after the “soban” table, are complemented by graphics reminiscent of traditional scrolls. This blend of pink and cultural motifs invites visitors to engage with the rich Korean art heritage while embarking on a culinary adventure.

OURDANG’s packaging blends functionality with modern aesthetics for a user-friendly experience. Our hexagonal boxes, crafted from lightweight, eco-friendly sugarcane paper, ensure stability during transport, protecting even the most delicate bakery items. The unique shape is designed for efficient stacking while offering a comfortable grip that minimizes slipping for easy carrying, making them ideal for global travelers.
