Siya is a brand-new juice lineup made by SIS Natural (Yan Products). The largest producer in Armenia needed a vibrant, fresh, exclusive and attractive solution for the newly created brand to excite everyone! Get ready to experience a whole new level of excitement with Siya Juices.
The Main Idea
Tetra Pak is a Swedish multinational food packaging company headquartered in Switzerland. The company offers packaging, filling machines and processing for dairy, beverages, cheese, ice cream and prepared food.
The packaging for Siya juices was chosen to be this brand’s Prisma type paper packaging. After researching the material used for the box production, it was chosen as the basis for the project, and since this paper packaging will represent natural juices, I decided that the fruits should be depicted in juicy and vibrant colors. Therefore the bases for the packing design for this project I chose a paper cut-out from which bottom is visible vibrant and sun-ripped fruits, from which are made Siya’s 100% natural juices without sugar and additives. Initially, a design project was required for five types of fruit for Siya juices: cherry, orange, mango, lime, and apple. The packaging is bilingual — English and Russian. Siya juices are exported to over 20 countries around the world.
About the Printing Technique
Braille printing is for people with vision impairment. The system is read by sliding the index finger on signs. This printing is very important for clients and stakeholders with vision impairment. They speak about the good sense of the business. Besides, they are remarkable and memorable.
The packaging of Siya has a unique solution in this regard as well. It is the only juice in the world whose packaging has Braille printing at the bottom, allowing customers with visual impairments to feel and identify which fruit juice they are buying, and this is a powerful marketing advantage on a global scale.
The Results of the Competition
The project had a deadline of about one month, along with a significant prize fund. According to Davit Hakobyan, the person responsible for the competition, more than 120 individual designers from around the world submitted their work for the packaging design. Although the completed project “remained on paper”, it secured a fairly successful position, achieving an honorable 3rd place among the aforementioned submissions.
