Pirate Sheep is a tiny craft Croatian meadery created to bring raw, immersive fantasy back to the world’s oldest drink. Co-founded by award-winning mixologist and distiller Matko Meštrović, artist Marta Strazicic and art historian Andela Tensek. We produce small volume, limited-edition batches of mead from locally sourced honey, enriched with unique fruits, spices and botanicals to celebrate the wide variety of mead types, only known to the world of magic and devoted connoisseurs.

Our brand lives in a fantasy-laced universe, where strange monsters hunt down their favorite mead flavors from a tiny crew of sheep whose mission of a simple mead delivery is already hindered by the dangerous seas. The story unfolds through short pixel animations, revealing the broader Honey Venture mythos.

The packaging features matte black ceramic bottles, printed with high-contrast 1-bit graphics using a DIY heat-press technique. Each design is applied by hand, making the print permanent, tactile, and as raw as the mead inside. The aesthetic blends pixel art, dark fantasy, and pure roughness.

Photographed inside miniature dioramas, the visuals expand the lore: crafted terrain, eerie lighting, and sculpted figures echo the world our bottles come from — the world filled with monsters, myths, and mission-driven sheep.
