Studio Unbound proudly presents a new breed of vibrator: Cony.

Studio Unbound is starting 2022 as they mean to go on and have landed with something subversive, determined to make a difference in its industry. Unapologetic as ever, Cony is a brand identity which is a high-end take on the classic rabbit vibrator.

There are so many things that fall into the category of being socially unacceptable to talk about in society. Especially when it comes to the female body. Stigmatic topics like – periods, contraception, or even self-pleasure. How can women have a healthy relationship with sex when they are made to feel such shame about it? Having an orgasm is as natural as eating and breathing – but why the stigma, to ease male discomfort maybe? A hangover from religious grips on society? Who decided that female self-pleasure was taboo when ancient Greeks celebrated it in all its glory?

Cony seeks to remove the barriers that society has created towards female self-pleasure and is instead turning them on their head; something that is normally visualised as taboo or even sinful, Studio Unbound has leant into the more heavenly or angelic route. Celebrating the female orgasm and the enjoyment of exploring your sexuality as a spiritual experience.

Cony is an instrument to transport you to a technicolour world of pleasure. Studio Unbound intentionally used iridescent acrylic to give the product an angelic feel but mainly as it is transparent. Studio Unbound didn’t want to hide behind discreet packaging with keyholes or censored bars that discreetly sex shame you, but instead, you can walk out of the shop proudly with nothing to hide.

Studio Unbound named the brand Cony, an old British word for rabbit. They then crafted the typography to be soft and robust using the curved and sculpted form of the toy for inspiration. The brand was finished with the symbolic logo, comprised of two exclamation marks which provide the emphasis of the enjoyment and pleasure of an orgasm but look closer and you see the rabbit with its two eyes and ears.

Cony is a brand that was created with intention. Its passion is to rewrite the narrative and reclaim the stigma of talking about masturbation forever, seeking to celebrate and promote a safer space where women can talk about sex with no shame or discomfort.

Studio Unbound is a small-but-mighty branding studio that works with aspiring founders of FMCG brands. They always try to deliver work that’s a little different, breaks the mould, and demands to be noticed.
