Svarog Distillery gin

I worked on rebranding the whole visual identity of Svarog Distillery gins. I wanted to keep the focus on the old legend of Svarog – the old Slavic god of fire, blacksmithing, sky & sun.

Svarog represents strength, courage, mystery, and the connection between heaven and earth, so I wanted this to be personified by the bottle itself. The connection between heaven and earth, between fire and blacksmithing, and between the sun and life is therefore represented with lines across the bottle. With dark colors and luminous details, I wanted to create the connection to blacksmithing, the contact with nature and minerals. According to the legend, Svarog forged the sun and placed it in the sky, and gave the Slavs pliers from which blacksmithing was supposed to develop.

We used modern and minimalist sanserif typography, which together with a simple color scheme expresses the basic idea of the old legend.

In distinguishing between four bottles of different flavored gins, we wanted them to have different colored lids. Each of the colors represents a different meaning based on the legend of Svarog.
