Josipina Prva

Josipina Starkl, from Gregovce in Bizeljsko (Slovenia), moved with her husband to Bled, where they took over and renovated the inn by the lakeside, renaming it Hotel Starkl. After her husband’s death, she remained in Bled until the end of her life, faithful to the place’s heritage. In creating the sparkling wine “Josipina Prva,” we used grapes from Istenič’s vines from her native region, maturing it at the bottom of Lake Bled, admiring Hotel Starkl as a symbol of her life’s work. The sparkling wine embodies respect for the place’s history and Hotel Starkl, symbolizing a sustainable future.
