When designing this Wife Cake gift box, I couldn’t stop picturing its crispy, flaky layers and rich, indulgent filling. Honestly, inspiration for designers sometimes comes from experience—but more often, it comes from desire.

Kaohsiung is a city filled with warmth and culture. Here, Wife Cake isn’t just a pastry—it’s a taste of nostalgia. We wanted this gift box to hold more than just pastries; we wanted it to convey thoughtfulness—like the comforting aroma from a beloved old bakery or the simple warmth of a family member handing you a piece of cake. Simple, yet deeply heartfelt.

As one of Kaohsiung’s most established traditional bakeries, Chun Rong Bakery remains dedicated to preserving this classic treat through time-honored methods. We hope that visitors to Kaohsiung can experience this taste of tradition as well.

In our packaging design, we illustrated the stories behind the pastry and the essence of the city. The fusion of antique patterns and modern aesthetics brings together tradition and contemporary design, ensuring that while customers savor the flavors, they also experience the rich cultural heritage within every bite.
