About
This is a first time period kit by the brand PAPAYA . A kit that is thoughtfully curated for girls who get their periods for the first time. The aim was to curate a kit that eliminates misinformation regarding menarche, breaking taboos and introducing them with the right products to use.
Concept
The concept behind the packaging was the story of Kamakhya Devi Temple, Assam. At Kamakhya Devi, the goddess is celebrated while on menstruation. There is a festival that they celebrate during those 4 days i.e the Ambubachi Mela. These rituals intrigued us a lot . We thought if a bleeding goddess is celebrated, then this is something every girl should know about so that she stops fearing menstruation, does not treat it as a taboo and feels natural about it. Hence there is a use of tantric symbols related to fertility and females.Since tantric practices are prominent at Kamakhya Devi.
There are illustrations of 5 girls which have been used throughout the kit, these girls are created to communicate to the users that the packaging is for you, there are a lot of girls like you, you are not the only one but at the same time , you are different than them, all of you are different and unique in your own ways and you all deserve to be celebrated.
This is a student hypothetical project.
