Ciumai Reserve Label Design

Ciumai is a historic Moldovan winery, active since the mid-20th century — but this wine marks a significant milestone: their first premium release. For this project, 43oz Studio was tasked with crafting a label that would elevate the product to a new level of exclusivity while reflecting its strong local identity and deep-rooted values.

The centerpiece of the design is the stylized head of a buffalo — a nod to Moldova’s coat of arms and a symbol of strength and origin. Around it, an intricate web of esoteric elements evokes the ritualistic, almost alchemical process of winemaking. The label itself is rich in tactile detail: deep embossing, blind deboss, multi-level 3D sculpted foil stamping — all executed to create an immersive sensory experience. Ciumai’s debut into the premium category is not just a wine, but a story of place, craftsmanship, and transformation.
