The project presents countries in the form of spices corresponding to their culinary identity. The shapes of the outlines of the countries (Germany, Georgia, Mexico, France, Caucasus) were created with stencils, inside of which spices were hand-painted: Bavarian (cumin, coriander), Georgian (khmeli-suneli), spicy (chilli, pepper), creamy (nutmeg, vanilla), Caucasian (sumac, utskho-suneli). Spices were selected by association with traditional dishes or spices of the region. Accordingly, on the back of each spice is a simple recipe for those who want to discover the full flavour of the spice. The work was carried out using macro photography to convey texture.
The result is a visual map where geography is read through the composition of the cuisine. It is not just a map, but a gastronomic portrait of cultures, where each country speaks the language of its spices.
