It started with the idea of making a big vintage key the focal point of the label. I began by sketching ornate key designs and experimenting with different ways to give it a strong, tactile presence—eventually settling on heavy gold embossing to really make it stand out. From there, I built the rest of the layout around the key, keeping the color palette muted and aged to evoke a sense of history and exclusivity.
I chose a wax seal and textured paper to add a layer of authenticity and tactile interest. Details like the cask number, batch info, and master distiller’s signature were positioned for easy reading and to reinforce the sense of craftsmanship. Subtle line art and faded architectural elements in the background were added to create visual depth without distracting from the central icon. The goal was to make the bottle feel like a true collector’s item—classic, premium, and full of small details for someone to discover over time.
