WineLab is a unique initiative that brings together Viña VIK — internationally recognized for its innovation and excellence — with leading universities in Chile and, for the first time, with the Federal University of Pampa in Brazil. This project enables young talents to develop their wines with the support of VIK’s winemaking team and to compete before an international jury.

With two successful editions and a third underway, WineLab has established itself as a high-impact educational platform that connects academia, the wine industry, and leading brands with a vision of innovation and excellence.

Our challenge was to create a packaging structure that represents the competition, reflects the winery and its collaborators’ spirit of innovation, and evolves year after year into a collectible object and a testament to the competition.

The design proposal aims to simultaneously convey the innovation and leadership of Viña VIK and the artisanal nature of the winemaking process.

To achieve this, the design is built on two core axes:

The narrative of the process: a freehand illustration that subtly and artistically depicts the different stages of winemaking, highlighting its manual, experimental, and craft-driven essence.

An evolving artistic expression: a second element that serves as a canvas for visual experimentation, inspired by the iconic materialities present at Viña VIK.

LABEL TWO

An artistic expression based on materials extracted from the VIK universe. It keeps the same original shape every year but changes its finish to surprise and create a collection. It also carries the WineLab and VIK marks as a signature of authorship.

Edition 1: Weathered aluminum. / Edition 2: Polished gold. / Edition 3: ???

By combining both labels, a transgressive and memorable effect is achieved: a contrast that, like art, admits multiple interpretations, breaks with convention, and reaffirms WineLab’s innovative spirit. This system not only communicates but also adapts and evolves with each edition, reinforcing the project’s identity and experimental spirit.
