Shabouk was commissioned to develop a premium gift set for a niche perfume launch across GCC boutiques. The brief: craft a rigid box and matching carrier that feel unmistakably luxurious, protect the bottle in transit, and present the brand’s oud-driven identity with restraint rather than noise.

Concept & Visual Language
We built the narrative around contrast—deep, matte blacks against warm metallic highlights—to echo the oud/amber accord. A minimal front face carries a fine gold foil logotype, balanced by a blind-deboss pattern derived from traditional mashrabiya geometry. The experience opens with a slow, magnetized reveal and a ribbon-assisted lift.

Structure & Materials

• Rigid box: 1200 gsm greyboard wrapped in 140 gsm dyed-through black paper with soft-touch lamination.
• Finishes: hot foil stamping (antique gold), blind deboss (0.6 mm plate), spot UV on side panel.
• Closure: concealed neodymium magnets, calibrated for a controlled snap.
• Tray/insert: precision-cut EVA, wrapped in black velvet paper; tolerance ±0.5 mm for a zero-rattle fit.
• Carry bag: 200 gsm coated paper, duplex printed, reinforced turn-tops, cotton rope handles.

Print & Color Management
Offset CMYK with one Pantone special for metallic consistency; foil/ink color targets held within ΔE ≤ 1.5 across three production batches.

Sustainability
FSC-certified papers, water-based adhesives, plastic-free primary pack, and soy-based inks. Localized converting in UAE to minimize freight footprint.

Challenges & Solutions
Maintaining uniform black across substrates without bronzing required a custom ink curve and extended drying. Magnet alignment was jig-assisted; final QC included drop-tests and humidity cycling to validate fit and finish.

Outcome
The set delivers a quiet, tactile luxury that supports premium shelf positioning and gifting—solid in hand, precise in detail, and unmistakably “boutique.”
