Shabouk – Architecture Inspired Perfume Packaging Collection
A series of luxury rigid perfume boxes by Shabouk, inspired by European heritage architecture and translated into clean line–art façades, hot-foil details and bold color blocking. The collection connects timeless buildings with contemporary fragrance packaging.
e created this architecture inspired perfume packaging collection for Shabouk, a luxury printing and packaging house based in the Middle East. The idea was to translate iconic European city façades into contemporary rigid boxes for niche fragrances.
Each box takes its proportions and rhythm from historic buildings – tall towers, arcades, domes and windows – and simplifies them into clean line–art illustrations. The buildings appear in two layers: a subtle background drawing that wraps around the box and a bolder central façade that anchors the front panel. This creates depth and a clear focal point without overcrowding the layout.
The structures are printed on high quality rigid board with a soft–touch finish to emphasize the tactile experience when the customer holds the box. A metallic band wraps around the middle of each pack, functioning both as a visual horizon and as a unifying branding device across the whole series. The Shabouk logotype is stamped in metallic foil to reinforce the premium positioning.
Color plays a key role in differentiating the fragrances. The warm orange box captures the energy of a busy European square. The ivory box feels lighter and more minimal, echoing classical stone façades. The deep blue box references night–time cityscapes and the mystery of evening perfumes. All three versions share the same architectural language, so they work as a family on shelf while still allowing each scent to have its own personality.
The diagonal composition used in the key visuals connects three layers: the black background with the pack, the cream panel with line–art architecture, and real city photography. This visual storytelling shows the design journey from real building, to illustration, to finished box, making the concept easy to understand at a glance.
Overall, the project aims to humanize luxury packaging by linking a modern perfume box to emotional memories of travel, streets and monuments. Shabouk used its in–house printing and finishing capabilities to keep the details sharp, the foil clean and the edges perfectly constructed, proving that local production can achieve international luxury standards.
