Title: Guarding Endangered Life, Cherishing the Source of Existence
This eco-friendly mineral water packaging is designed under the theme “Guarding endangered life, cherishing the source of existence.”
Inspired by the critically endangered white-headed langur — a species endemic to Guangxi, China, with fewer than 700 remaining individuals — the design embodies the delicate balance between humanity and nature. The visual concept draws from the poetic karst landscapes of Guangxi, portraying a serene scene of a “monkey drinking from a spring,” a metaphor for “remembering the source when drinking water.”
The packaging is crafted from an innovative paper–plastic composite, replacing conventional plastic bottles. The pulp is made from renewable bamboo and wood fibers; the printing uses plant-based eco inks; and the inner coating is biodegradable and toxin-free — ensuring full recyclability and compliance with international green standards. The layered mountain-shaped bottle structure emphasizes the preciousness of natural water resources while showcasing advanced 3D paper-forming techniques.
After consumption, the bottle can be easily repurposed by replacing its cap — transforming into a reusable dispenser for hand soap or detergent. This design fully practices the sustainable cycle of “reduction – reuse – recyclability,” extending the life of the packaging and deepening its environmental meaning.
It is a work that uses design to awaken ecological empathy — turning every sip of water into a gentle act of protecting life itself.
