Monogatari Tea

In designing the packaging for Monogatari teas, my goal was to create a form and visual identity that are both practical and emotionally engaging. I chose a clean, top-sealing rectangular shape that protects the tea well while also providing an elegant and distinctive appearance. The packaging graphics are a contemporary reinterpretation of the ukiyo-e style, evoking traditional Japanese aesthetics while establishing the brand’s unique visual world. Each of the three characters—the Samurai, the Geisha, and the Zen Master—has an iconic appearance with a distinct color palette.

It was important that the packaging not only serve a functional purpose but also become an integral part of the brand’s narrative universe. On the back, I included practical information along with a short story excerpt, while inside there is a QR code that links to a Spotify playlist matching the mood of the tea. In this way, the tea-drinking experience becomes a multisensory, personal journey.
