Craft beer «Aquarium»

«Aquarium» is a craft beer brand from Nizhny Novgorod. Each beer tells a story, inspired by the city’s local symbols and images.

The brand’s concept is inspired by ancient buffoon masks discovered during excavations in Nizhny Novgorod, which in Russian culture were considered conductors of spirits. In the craft beer brand’s identity, masks are transformed into “beer spirits”—guardians of the taste, traditions, and atmosphere of Nizhny Novgorod, conductors of festivity and fun.

Each can features a mask of the beer spirit and a legend about it, explaining how it came to be and where in Nizhny Novgorod it lives. The cans are stamped with the words “Beer Spirits of Nizhny Novgorod” and the symbol of a real ancient Nizhny Novgorod seal.
