Dryàs

ABOUT

Dryàs is a wine produced in Greece, a land where history, mythology, and architecture still shape both the landscape and the collective imagination.

The project was born from the desire to visually translate the essence of this unique territory. In Greece, villages appear sculpted in stone: white staircases cascade through the architecture, guiding the eye toward the sea and the sky, while ancient figures stand as timeless witnesses of a civilization that continues to influence our modern culture.

The identity of Dryàs draws inspiration from this encounter between architecture and mythological heritage. The goal was to design a packaging capable of condensing these two powerful symbols of Greece into a minimal and contemporary visual language.

The bottle therefore becomes more than a container — it becomes a narrative object, evoking a journey through Greek landscapes, history, and culture.

SOLUTION

The design is built around a label whose silhouette directly echoes the stepped geometry of Mediterranean architecture, commonly found in Greek villages.

This graphic shape creates a strong vertical rhythm and transforms the label into an architectural structure applied to the bottle. The staircase becomes a metaphor for elevation and discovery — much like the sensory journey experienced when tasting wine.

At the top of this architectural composition appears the stylized profile of a Greek warrior inspired by classical sculptures. This figure symbolizes strength, nobility, and the historical depth of the territory. It acts as an emblem, immediately anchoring the bottle within the imagery of ancient Greece.

The color palette reinforces this visual narrative. The soft blue evokes the Aegean Sea and the Mediterranean sky, both omnipresent in the Greek landscape, while the deep red directly references the color of wine and the richness of the terroir.

The typography is elegant and structured, subtly inspired by the proportions of classical Greek inscriptions while remaining contemporary. It interacts with the geometric shape of the label to create a balance between historical heritage and modern design.

RESULT

The result is a packaging design that transforms the bottle into an architectural object.

The stepped silhouette creates a distinctive visual signature that immediately stands out on the shelf. By breaking away from traditional label formats, the design naturally captures attention while remaining refined and minimal.

Through the combination of architecture, mythology, and Mediterranean landscape references, the design condenses the cultural identity of Greece into a simple yet powerful graphic gesture.

Dryàs becomes more than a wine — it becomes an invitation to travel. A bottle that captures the spirit of Greece — its light, its stone, and its history — and translates it into a visual and sensory experience.
