FINE PAPER TAKEO CHINESE RED PACKET

A token of command, a pendant of blessing

This packaging design Inspired by ancient Chinese tokens and jade pendants, this red packet series explores the symbolism of authority and blessing. In traditional culture, tokens represented command and status, while jade pendants embodied virtue and good wishes. By combining these cultural symbols, the design transforms the red packet from a simple monetary envelope into an object that represents bestowed fortune and ceremonial gifting.

The series includes three designs in red, green, and purple, accented with gold lines to express a festive yet refined New Year aesthetic. Traditional motifs of coins, ingots, and oranges are incorporated to symbolize wealth, luck, and prosperity.

The design also introduces a layered meaning. The cover features command-style blessings beginning with “Ma Shang,” while opening the packet reveals another message of good fortune. This interaction turns the red packet into more than packaging—it becomes a symbolic talisman that carries and shares blessings.
