Mellora is a honey brand inspired by the landscapes of China and the traditions of family beekeeping passed down through generations. The concept is built around the idea of preservation — preserving both the natural taste of honey and the cultural heritage of Chinese family apiaries.
The honey is packaged in a metal can, a format that symbolically “conserves” not only the product itself but also the traditions behind it. The can protects the honey from light and external influences, helping maintain its quality and flavor. While honey is usually packaged in glass jars, this alternative format offers greater durability and creates a distinctive presence on the shelf.
A reusable silicone lid is included to cover the can after opening, allowing the honey to be stored conveniently during everyday use. This feature extends the life of the packaging and transforms it into a practical reusable container.
The project explores how traditional food products can be reimagined through alternative packaging solutions. The metal can improves product protection, facilitates transportation and storage, and allows efficient stacking during distribution.
For clients and producers, the packaging combines functional advantages with strong storytelling, presenting honey not only as a natural product but also as a preserved taste of tradition and family beekeeping culture.
The result is packaging that combines practicality with storytelling, presenting honey as something carefully preserved — both in flavor and in tradition.
