Joviality Unofficial Repackaging Project

Concept:

The main concept focuses on switching the Joviality lip scrub product from a small jar design to a recyclable squeeze-tube design made from sugarcane bio-polythene plastic/kraft paper. The new structure combines the traditional squeeze-tube design with the silicone lip-scrub applicator to avoid hygiene issues and reduce waste. The new visual design uses floral motifs that are related to each flavor and are inspired by the floral Art Nouveau motifs. Moreover, the flowy and symmetrical shapes resemble a uterus, which reinforces the idea of nature, femininity, balance, and natural ingredients.

Old Design Disadvantages:

  • Made out of non-recyclable plastic, which is bad for the environment and reacts to heat.
  • The small jar makes the product hard to use and wastes product.
  • Product use can be unhygienic since direct use is through the fingers of the consumers.
  • Design is not appealing for the target audience (women).
  • Product has no secondary packaging to protect it while transporting or shipping.

New Design Advantages:

  • Made out of recyclable sugarcane biopolythene plastic/kraft paper.
  • The tube design ensures that the product is easy to use and ensures the entire product is used to the full extent.
  • The tube design incorporates the lip-scrub silicone tool onto the top itself, ensuring usage is easy and upholding hygienic standards.
  • The new design incorporates elements related to Art Nouveau motifs in symmetrical compositions that reference the shape of the uterus to echo nature, femininity, balance, and natural ingredients that are safe to use.
  • Is housed inside a secondary product before being used by the consumer for protection.

Sustainable Packaging Categories:

  1. Visual Packaging: Creating an intriguing and interesting design that both communicates the product and is more fun and appealing to the target audience. The design should include the main ingredient of each product (strawberry, coffee, mango, and vanilla) in a simple, yet intriguing design that highlights the plant itself to symbolize nature inspired by flowy Art Nouveau plant motifs. Moreover, the flowy and symmetrical shapes resemble a uterus, which reinforces the idea of nature, femininity, balance, and natural ingredients.
  2. Structural Packaging: Switching from a small jar design to a tube design using bio-degradable plastic/kraft paper. Moreover, the design will use a combination of the traditional squeeze-tube and the shape of a lip scrubber, which consumers can use to both squeeze out the product and use the tool to scrub their lips thoroughly, solving hygiene problems.
  3. Save the Food: Using a squeeze tube helps reduce the wastage of the product by ensuring that most, if not all, of the product is used.
