Grandpa Secret

Canned vegetables are one of the most forgettable aisles in the grocery store: rows of near identical cans competing purely on price. Rather than leaning on clinical “healthy” packaging cues, I built this brand around nostalgia and story instead.

Grandpa’s Secret imagines a grandfather who grew, hand picked, and preserved his own carrots using a family method passed down through generations, and every can becomes a small piece of that inheritance. The tagline, “For all who carry Grandpa’s Legacy,” sets the emotional hook before a single ingredient is read.

To keep that story from feeling saccharine, I paired it with a surreal, playful illustration: Grandpa pedaling a bicycle built from a single oversized carrot, rendered in loose, hand inked line work. It’s the kind of image that makes people smile and linger, which is exactly the job a label has to do in under two seconds on a crowded shelf.
