General Project Rationale
Project Objective
This work was developed as a student academic project in comprehensive design as part of the Packaging Design course within the Digital Graphic Design programme. The primary purpose of the proposal is to create, conceptualise and technically develop a cosmetic product, from its initial sketches through to its physical presentation at the point of sale.
For this exercise, the fragrance Purple Drop was developed as a fictional line extension for the Halloween brand, using the Blue Drop range as a creative reference. The project provided an opportunity to apply practical knowledge of container design, secondary packaging development, three-dimensional display structures and market-positioning strategies.
Target Audience
Purple Drop was developed to address the needs of a market segment comprising women between the ages of 18 and 40, whose psychographic profile is characterised by a desire for a versatile, modern and confident identity.
Systemic Coherence
The rationale behind this project lies in the complete synergy between its three components: the container, packaging and display stand. As a comprehensive design project, a consistent visual language was maintained at every scale. This ensures that the transition from the elegant feminine silhouette of the bottle to the packaging’s unboxing experience and the display stand’s visual presence supports the goal of positioning Purple Drop as a fresh, youthful and appealing addition to the imagined Halloween brand portfolio.
