Finca La Borreguera is the flagship wine of Bodegas Martínez Paiva, a limited-edition Tempranillo created from some of the estate’s oldest vines in Tierra de Barros, Extremadura.

More than thirty years old, these vines have developed roots that reach over ten metres underground, drawing from the deepest layers of the soil and contributing to a richer expression of the terroir.

The wine also represents a moment of maturity for the winery itself, now led by the fifth generation of a family of winegrowers. This connection between land, time and accumulated knowledge became the starting point for the project.

The concept is built around a main idea: wine is the visible result of an invisible process.

The packaging translates this idea into a visual identity that moves symbolically from the surface to what lies beneath it. The highly vertical typography evokes the growth of the vines while directing the eye towards the underground. The label is visually divided into two areas, with an earthy lower section representing the soil from which the vine emerges. Within it, a delicate network of lines suggests the hidden roots and their journey through the land, encountering the minerals that enrich the character of the wine.

Rather than adding a new story to the product, the design reveals the story that was already there: the truth of Tierra de Barros.
