Padre has spent more than 15 years at the forefront of Australian specialty coffee. From its Brunswick East beginnings, it has grown into a national brand spanning cafés, wholesale, retail and eCommerce. With bigger ambitions ahead, Squad Studio reinvented Padre with a bold new identity and packaging system designed to build excitement, sharpen recognition and give the brand the confidence to grow.
At the heart of the new brand is ‘The Full Spectrum of Specialty Coffee’. A platform that captures the breadth of Padre’s coffee, from everyday blends to rotating Single Origins, while bringing more colour, flavour and personality to the category.
The crown remains as a recognisable piece of Padre DNA, but almost everything around it has changed. A new vertical wordmark creates a distinctive graphic signature, paired with bold typography, an expanded colour palette and a more expressive visual language. The result deliberately moves away from the quiet, restrained codes often associated with specialty coffee.
Packaging is where the new identity comes alive. Signature blends go all-in on colour, turning each coffee into a bold block of recognition on shelf. Single Origins flip the system with a crisp white canvas, creating immediate distinction while allowing an ever-changing roster of coffees to sit comfortably within the same family.
Flavour takes centre stage. Tasting notes are amplified into bold typographic statements, making what the coffee actually tastes like one of the first things you see. Technical information is still there for those who want to dig deeper, but the front of pack is designed to be immediate, intuitive and appetite-led.
The system brings order to a diverse and constantly changing portfolio without sanding off its personality. It can flex from core blends and Single Origins to seasonal drops and future products, while remaining unmistakably Padre.
Bold, colourful and confident, the new Padre turns the full spectrum of specialty coffee into something you can see before you even take the first sip.
