Riri Baby Food – Package Redesign

Rana Elkady

About:

This project is a redesign and restructuring of four of the flavors of (Riri) baby food: Rice with Banana, Rice with Carrots, Rice with Apples, and Rice with Dates. The redesign focuses on elevating shelf appeal, introducing eco-friendly structural material, and improving packaging functionality to preserve food.

Target Audience:

The primary target audience is parents, with toddlers as a secondary audience attracted by the child-friendly packaging. The end consumers are babies and toddlers.

Solution:

    1. Visual Packaging:

The design creates a modern, high-quality look featuring child-friendly visuals that reflect the product’s nature, along with a minimalist illustration style that gives the packaging a soft, playful appearance without overwhelming consumers with excessive detail. The chosen color palette is vibrant to stand out and improve shelf visibility.

    2. Structural Packaging & Saving The Food:

The new structural design utilizes kraft paper, a lightweight yet durable material that provides high strength during storage and handling while reducing overall packaging weight and transportation and production energy consumption.

Switching to kraft paper gives the process a more environmentally friendly choice since kraft is biodegradable and recyclable, while protecting food quality since it contains moisture-resistant properties and is highly resistant to rips and punctures.

Results & Advantages:

  1. Simple and minimalist visuals that avoid visual clutter
  2. Vibrant and eye-catching colors differentiating between flavors
  3. Modern design
  4. Child-friendly design matching the product
  5. Biodegradable material enhancing sustainability
