ABOUT

Saadhak is a spiritual jewellery brand rooted in Indian traditions of devotion and faith. The packaging was designed to make the product feel less like conventional religious merchandise and more like a contemporary expression of Indian spirituality.

THE BRIEF

Rudraksha—the brand’s hero product-is traditionally believed to have originated from the tears of Lord Shiva. The brief was to build a packaging experience around this spiritual connection while creating a visual identity that felt culturally rooted, contemporary, and inclusive.

DESIGN & INSPIRATION

The packaging translates Indian spirituality through illustration, symbolism, and pattern rather than conventional religious imagery.

At its centre, dark-skinned divine hands perform mudras, creating a visual metaphor for equality and challenging the colorism often associated with representations of beauty and divinity in India. The Rudraksha connects this narrative directly back to the product, while a Bhagavad Gita shlok and illustrated Indian motifs celebrate the country’s rich spiritual heritage.

The box is made from reused cardboard, with the artwork developed around its folds, edges, and panels to make the structure and graphics work as one. A turquoise centre framed by sage, cream, deep green and pink creates a contemporary interpretation of Indian visual culture.

The result is a tactile unboxing experience that treats the packaging not simply as a container, but as a small piece of spiritual storytelling.

WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE

Rather than using spirituality to reinforce familiar visual codes, Saadhak uses it to open up a conversation around representation, bringing together faith, Indian cultural identity and inclusivity in a single packaging experience.
