For Tepelene, a water brand tied to a spring with a documented history of over 2,500 years in southern Albania, BoldCrest set out to move beyond a routine packaging refresh into a full identity rebuild the brand could carry for years.
The bottle takes its slim, cylindrical form from three local references at once: the shape of a falling water droplet, the silhouette of the Ali Pasha hat, and the pleated lines of the southern Albanian fustanella. Ali Pasha’s engraved emblem sits alongside typography drawn from Lord Byron’s own handwriting, tying the design to the region’s history without letting it feel like a museum piece.
The goal throughout was a design that read as contemporary and dignified while staying immediately recognizable on shelf: ergonomic in hand, efficient to produce, and distinct from the rest of the category. The same visual system was then extended across the wider range, including Tepelene Sport and Tepelene Kids, so the full portfolio holds together as one family.
The bottle body is a slim, tall cylinder shaped for a comfortable grip, with a slightly wider base for stability and a neck that narrows gradually for a controlled pour. Raised vertical lines run down the center, echoing the fall of a water droplet while adding strength to the structure.
