BFT Biophte — Brand Identity & Skincare Packaging Design

Blending Oriental Aesthetics with Modern Skincare Science

Project Overview

BFT Biophte is a Chinese skincare brand focused on botanical essence-based skincare. The project explores how a heritage-inspired brand can evolve its visual identity while maintaining its distinctive character and connecting with contemporary skincare consumers.

HONGLT developed an integrated creative design solution covering brand visual identity, skincare product packaging, and supporting brand materials. The goal was to bring together Oriental cultural influences, modern skincare science, and a refined contemporary aesthetic within a consistent visual system.

Design Concept

  1. Oriental Aesthetics, Reinterpreted

Rather than relying on conventional Chinese decorative motifs, the design translates Oriental aesthetics into a contemporary visual language through color, typography, composition, and material finishes.

The signature red identity serves as the central brand recognition element, balanced by white and silver tones to create a visual character that feels distinctive, refined, and modern.

  1. Art Meets Skincare Science

The visual direction combines the expressive qualities of art with the clarity and precision associated with scientific skincare.

Clean layouts, translucent surfaces, restrained typography, and carefully controlled lighting create a balance between professional credibility and an approachable skincare experience.

The result is a visual language that communicates both the brand’s botanical skincare focus and its contemporary positioning.

  1. Brand Evolution Through Visual Consistency

The redesign retains the recognizable red BFT logo while refining the broader visual system. This approach helps preserve existing brand recognition while creating opportunities for a fresher and more contemporary presentation.

Rather than changing every element, the project focuses on strengthening the relationship between brand identity, product packaging, and consumer-facing materials.

Packaging Design & Material Exploration

The packaging system was developed across multiple skincare categories, including facial cleansers, essence lotions, emulsions, creams, and concentrated ampoule products.

Each format has its own material and finishing characteristics while maintaining a consistent brand identity.

Cream jars: Metallic silver finishes and clean typography create a refined appearance for skincare cream products.

Facial cleanser tubes: White surfaces and silver closures balance everyday practicality with a polished visual presentation.

Lotion and spray bottles: Translucent and frosted finishes introduce visual lightness while supporting the botanical skincare concept.

Concentrated essence ampoules: Compact forms and restrained graphics emphasize simplicity and product-focused presentation.

Brand collateral: Coordinated bags, envelopes, and stationery extend the visual identity beyond individual products.

The design considers not only visual impact but also material suitability, finishing options, packaging consistency, and practical production requirements.

A Unified Brand Experience

A successful skincare packaging system needs to work as more than a collection of attractive individual products. It should help consumers recognize the brand across different product categories and touchpoints.

For BFT, the combination of signature red, silver accents, white space, and carefully selected surface finishes creates a coherent visual framework. The same design principles extend from primary packaging to secondary materials, supporting a more recognizable and consistent brand experience.

Design Takeaway

The BFT project explores a practical approach to contemporary Chinese skincare branding: preserving meaningful brand assets while translating cultural heritage into a modern visual identity.

By connecting Oriental aesthetics, skincare science, material expression, and a coordinated packaging system, the project demonstrates how brand identity and packaging can work together to create a distinctive and consistent product presentation.
