CORE. No-Nonsense Protein Pods | Packaging Design

Project: Packaging Design & Brand Identity
Product: Athlete-Focused Nutrition Pods
Year: 2026
Category: Sports Nutrition / Health Care / Conceptual Packaging

THE IDEA

Athletes dedicate years to training, discipline, and performance, yet everyday sports nutrition can often feel inconvenient to carry and consume. CORE explores a different approach to athlete nutrition through compact, easy-to-consume gummy-like pods designed around an athlete’s active lifestyle.

The concept reimagines how sports nutrition can fit into the rhythm of training, making it portable, convenient, and distinctly connected to the world of sport.

THE PACKAGING

What if sports nutrition packaging looked and felt like a part of an athlete’s gear?

CORE takes inspiration from the form of a sports shoe, transforming the packaging into a miniature shoe-shaped keychain. Designed to hold individual nutrition pods, the structure brings together portability, product protection, and a strong connection to athletic culture. The packaging explores the use of upcycled sports materials, including discarded jerseys, synthetic turf, and canvas from sports surfaces. This material direction gives sporting waste a new context while connecting the packaging to the environment it draws inspiration from.

More than a container, the shoe-shaped pack becomes a collectible accessory that athletes can carry with them, turning an everyday nutrition routine into a distinctive brand experience.

VISUAL IDENTITY

CORE is built around precision, movement, and performance. Its visual identity uses bold, condensed typography, a strong colour palette, and a dynamic graphic language to reflect the intensity of athletic training.

The branding is designed to feel direct and unapologetic, speaking to athletes who value function, discipline, and purposeful design. The identity and structural packaging work together to create a product that feels rooted in sport rather than traditional supplement packaging.

SUSTAINABILITY

CORE explores sustainability by reimagining discarded sports materials as valuable design resources. Materials such as used jerseys, synthetic turf, and sports-surface canvas inspire the packaging concept, giving sporting waste a potential second life. The shoe-shaped packaging is designed to be retained and carried as a keychain beyond its initial use, encouraging a shift from disposable packaging towards a more lasting, functional object. By bringing together material reuse and extended product utility, CORE explores how sports packaging can be designed with greater consideration for its lifecycle.

The result is a conceptual sports nutrition brand that challenges conventional packaging forms and explores how discarded sporting materials can inspire new design possibilities.
