EDGE OF KOREA is a packaging design project for Radish Pesto, a product series that brings together upcycled radish ingredients and distinctive flavors from Korea’s regional landscapes.
The collection features three regional ingredients: Ulleung Myeongi, Haenam Gim, and Jeju Hallabong. Each represents a different part of Korea, connecting the product’s identity to the country’s diverse geography and local food heritage.
The visual concept draws inspiration from traditional Korean calligraphy. The expressive movement of ink brushstrokes is reinterpreted through the rich, sweeping texture of pesto, creating a graphic language that connects Korean aesthetics with the product itself.
Bold typography, dynamic brushstroke graphics, and distinctive colors highlight the individuality of each variety while maintaining a cohesive visual identity. Regional photography and map-inspired illustrations further communicate the origin and character of the ingredients.
By combining traditional Korean visual elements with a contemporary graphic approach, the packaging offers a fresh interpretation of regional food culture, bringing together authenticity, creativity, and the value of upcycled ingredients.
