FOUNTAIN OF BOUCHE – When Two Visual Worlds Collide
What happens when two independent drinks brands, each with its own distinct identity, come together to create something entirely new?
FOUNTAIN OF BOUCHE is a limited-edition collaboration between Berlin-based beverage brands BOUCHE and Fountain of Youth. After years of sharing space in cafés, restaurants and fridges across Europe, the two brands decided to take their long-standing friendship one step further.
The result is a completely new sparkling fermented drink combining Fountain of Youth’s coconut water with BOUCHE’s kombucha culture, hibiscus and fresh lime. Developed over several months by BOUCHE’s Head of R&D, Léo Rey, the product brings together the ingredients, expertise and experimental spirit of both brands.
THE DESIGN CONCEPT
The same spirit of collaboration extends to the packaging.
Designed by BOUCHE co-founder and graphic designer Felix Rank together with Azar Kazimir, Creative Director of Fountain of Youth and the Michelberger Hotel, the challenge was to bring two recognisable visual identities together without allowing either to dominate.
Rather than simply placing two logos side by side, the design explores what happens when two distinct creative worlds collide, overlap and become something new.
The 330 ml aluminium can becomes a canvas for this interaction. Bold red and blue illustrations intertwine with metallic silver forms, creating a dynamic composition of abstract shapes, movement and layered imagery. The contrasting colours and graphic elements interact across the curved surface, giving the packaging a playful, almost chaotic energy.
THE DESIGN SOLUTION
The visual language combines elements of both brands while introducing a new identity specifically for the collaboration.
Oversized typography, contrasting orientations and expressive illustrations create a design that feels unconventional yet intentional. The metallic surface of the can is integrated into the composition, allowing the silver elements to interact with the bold graphics.
The illustration extends around the entire can, encouraging the viewer to rotate it and discover new details from different angles. Both brand names are given a strong presence, while the overall composition brings them together as one cohesive design.
The result is packaging that feels familiar to followers of both brands, yet belongs entirely to neither.
THE RESULT
FOUNTAIN OF BOUCHE is more than a collaboration between two drinks. It is an experiment in flavour, identity and creative exchange.
Produced as a limited edition, the project demonstrates how two independent brands can combine their individual strengths without losing what makes them distinctive.
Two brands. Two visual worlds. One completely new creation.
