Pchelin – Honey Brand Logo and Label Redesign

Modern World Studio

he Pchelin project explores the visual identity and packaging redesign of an established honey brand, aiming to create a distinctive, cohesive presentation that communicates the natural character of the product while strengthening its market presence. The concept is built around the relationship between nature, authenticity, and century-old tradition, translating these core values into a refined, contemporary visual language.

The design approach focuses on creating a harmonious balance between visual expression and functionality. Moving the nutritional information to the back freed up the front label, establishing a clear visual hierarchy and better legibility. We updated the logo by adopting Bulgarian Cyrillic, lightening the serifs, and separating the logotype from the graphic symbol to allow the composition to breathe. Bespoke botanical illustrations were created for each honey variety to enhance flavor differentiation and reinforce a connection to nature. To weave the brand’s history directly into the design, we incorporated a portrait of Grandma Kostadinka, an iconic figure in the family business.

Packaging plays a central role as both a functional container and the primary medium for storytelling. The design balances visual details with a unified system, enhancing shelf appeal while building consumer trust. The redrawn label frame complements the central logo without dominating the space, ensuring each product stands out clearly on retail shelves.

A key aspect of the project is integrating traditional roots with modern design sensibility. Rather than relying on conventional visual tropes, the identity reinterprets the natural origins of honey through a structured, contemporary approach. The result is a comprehensive design direction that aligns aesthetic decisions with brand positioning, demonstrating how thoughtful packaging design can honor heritage, elevate shelf presence, and build a lasting connection with consumers.
