Challenge
The challenge was to create a Tet gift box that carries dual values: it must not only be visually appealing but also convey sophistication and elegance, while preserving the traditional essence of Vietnam’s Tet celebrations. The gift box needed to evoke the atmosphere of Tet, while being distinctive enough to stand out as a meaningful gift for friends, partners, and family during the New Year.
Solution
To ensure a luxurious yet traditional feel, I chose images of the swallow and peach blossom – two familiar symbols of spring – as the focal point on the front of the box. The details were carefully designed, combined with a dominant warm red tone symbolizing luck and happiness. The traditional value is also reflected in the inclusion of bánh mứt, a familiar Tet treat. The harmonious blend of the refined exterior design and the traditional contents inside creates a well-rounded concept that embodies the spirit of Tet Vietnam.
The box structure was optimized to highlight the contents through a neat and elegant arrangement. I used premium materials and incorporated techniques like embossing and gold foil stamping, which not only create a luxurious feel but also enhance the value of the Tet gift.
Result
The Tet gift box design received high praise from Sheraton Saigon Hotel & Tower for its aesthetic appeal and brand value. It became a standout feature in their Tet campaign and received positive feedback from customers. The product not only made a strong visual impression but also evoked the warm and joyful atmosphere of spring, adding deep sentimental value to the Tet gift.
