A Journey of Taste Through Time

Everlasting Glory in Jade Inlay

In the chaotic and disoriented moments of life, a simple cup of good tea tends to calm the body, almost immediately; not only because of its biochemical nature, but the aroma of tea evokes the clarity of the mind, that in this life, there are always beautiful and wholesome things.

Everlasting Glory in Jade Inlay * comprises two premium-grade Pu’er teas:  2002 Imperial Pu’erh Tea ( Lão Phổ Hương ) and 2002 Hidden Pu’erh Tea ( Thanh Phổ Hương ). Crafted by the hands of artisans from Chuôn Ngọ Village — the cradle of the inlay craft of Kinh Bắc — the tea tray bears the imprint of time and space, and the architectural lines of the Lý–Trần imperial court.

Placed high, it is the lid that shelters the box; placed low, it is the base that supports the tray, at the same time.

2002 Imperial Pu’erh Tea,

or Lão Phổ Hương, is a premium aged Puerh tea, produced in 2002 from ancient snow shan tea trees, aged from 200 to 600 years, located in the high mountains of northern Vietnam.

The scent of precious wood and seductive dried herbs blends with the scent of quiet earth, wearing a deep amber robe like the smoldering fire over the years. 2002 Imperial Pu’erh Tea is a majestic piece of music with lyrics about the flow of time through the ancient land. Enjoy high-quality dried tea like dew from the vast mountains to let your soul harmonize with the eternal breathing of heaven and earth. Chuon Ngo village,

Once part of the ancient capital, is regarded as the birthplace of pearl shell inlay and has preserved a refined craft that has endured for over a thousand years. Emerging between the 11th and 13th centuries, intertwined with village legends and ancestral chronicles, Chuon Ngo inlay has weathered the tides of history with resilience. From generation to generation, it has given life to exquisite works imbued with soul and artistry, celebrated both within Vietnam and abroad.

Pearl shell inlay represents the sublime intersection of artistic vision, Masterful craftsmanship, and extraordinary patience. To complete a single work, artisans must undertake an intricate process of sketching, sawing, carving, inlaying, refining, detailing, and polishing. Seemingly lifeless shells of mussels and sea snails, once in the hands of skilled craftsmen, are infused with spirit and transformed into vibrant worlds of soaring mountains, radiant blossoms, spirited birds and animals, ancient tales, and landscapes steeped in Eastern aesthetics.
The iridescent layers of nacre form the very soul of the art, lending each piece a brilliance that is at once elegant and lifelike. Today, beyond paintings and traditional objects, Chuon Ngo inlay graces modern furnishings and designs, bringing refinement and sophistication to contemporary living spaces. Moreover, it stands as a testament to enduring creativity and cultural pride, embodying the thousand-year heritage of Thang Long and affirming Vietnam’s artisanal identity on the global stage.
