ABOUT

The Mid-Autumn Festival centres around family and the tradition of gifting. Our goal was to design a thoughtful, reusable mooncake package for hotel guests, creating a meaningful keepsake rather than a disposable box. The goal was to create a highly desirable, premium keepsake that luxury hotels could offer to their most esteemed guests and corporate clients.

SOLUTION

We designed the packaging to resemble a traditional Chinese cabinet, using a classic pairing of deep blue and crimson. The exterior features magpies and peonies to symbolise joy and prosperity. Intricate laser-cut windows offer a glimpse inside, where miniature lanterns represent the warmth of family and the guiding light of the harvest moon. The structure includes simple gold-toned hardware, a top handle, and pull-out drawers to hold the pastries.

RESULT

By blending traditional motifs with a functional design, the packaging was warmly received and successfully offered by our partner hotels. Beyond the festival, the sturdy construction allows guests to repurpose the box as a small storage cabinet, giving it a second life.
