Inverclyde Gin for Ardgowan Hospice

Hutton Creative Design

Inverclyde, UK

It was a pleasure to have been part of this project, working with local bottle factory The Start-Up Drinks Lab and local charity Ardgowan Hospice Ltd to create this limited-edition gin. A small batch of only 128 bottles were created.

Playing a vital role in the local community, Ardgowan Hospice has sat at the heart of Inverclyde for generations. Recognising 40 years of incredible service, Inverclyde Gin pays tribute to the Hospice with its limited edition celebratory gin. This gin has a unique blend of local juniper bilberries, fired up with local citrus fruit from lemons and orange, a delicious blend of flavours and botanicals.

My design explores the history of Inverclyde’s shipbuilding past and I am showing this with interwoven lines and a special design of the chosen stencil font, also using a unique blend of colours including copper, sea blue and green to highlight this brand. As you look through the bottle from the front it gives you an iconic view of Inverclyde which is painted by local artist Kevin Hunter and it creates a visual magnification when viewed this way, especially when tilted left and right.

The top of the bottle again has the woven lines and has a bronze foil strap and by breaking this strap it will launch this Inverclyde gin and support this local charity in so many ways. These limited edition bottles are available to buy now at with all profits going to Ardgowan Hospice in support of their ongoing charitable work. A big thank you to all involved who helped create this iconic bottle.
